Preparation Instructions:
  1. Remove thawed steak from the refrigerator and let it rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. Season generously with salt, pepper, and any preferred herbs or spices.
  2. Preheat Your Cooking Surface: Heat a grill, skillet, or broiler over high heat until hot. If using a skillet, add a splash of oil and let it heat until shimmering.
  3. Cooking the Steak: Place the steak on the hot surface and sear for 2-4 minutes per side for thinner cuts or 4-6 minutes per side for thicker cuts. For an even cook, flip only once, and press lightly to ensure full contact with the heat source.
    • Internal Temperature Guide:
      • Rare: 120-125°F. The center will be cool and red.
      • Medium-Rare: Cook until 130-135°F for a warm, red center.
      • Medium: Cook until 135-145°F where the center will be pink and warm.
      • Medium-Well: Cook until 145-155°F for a hint of pink in the center.
      • Well-Done: Cook until 160°F and above, with no pink remaining.
  4. Resting Time: Transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute for maximum tenderness and flavor.
